Looking Forward to 2022: My Year in Review, My Wish for You

My Wish for You in 2022
2022 a new year ahead

Midnight draws near and another year comes to a close. I bring in 2022 as I ended 2021, watching the Twilight Zone marathon on the SyFy network. I typically start watching early morning on the eve of the new year, I take a break to attend Watch Night service at church, and I return home and stick with the marathon. I see it through to the very end. My new year’s eve ritual suits me just fine. I’ve done it for years, it’s familiar, and I’m comfortable with it.

My Year in Review

Comfort is good because it feels like home. Home is good because we can always go back there and find peace. Finding solace at the end of the year was significant because 2021 was a year of stepping out of my comfort zone. I challenged myself to take my own advice and “get comfortable with being uncomfortable.” I enrolled in yoga teacher training, and I will complete that training in a few weeks. Last January was the first time I took a yoga class! And I had to start with teacher training! Can you believe it? If you know me, that’s no surprise. When I do things, I rarely do them halfway. I go all in.

I completed my Health and Wellness Coach certification in October. I am now certified to facilitate Your Diabetes Your Heart, a diabetes education program put together by the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association. My research grant application I submitted last summer was discussed and scored (that’s a big deal in the world of academia), and I was able to revise my application and resubmit it this past July.

I started a business, NuLife Health and Wellness, and I made social connections that I would not have ordinarily made had I not chosen to let go of some things that were holding me back. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still struggling with some things, like fear and self-doubt, but I don’t let these things deter me or keep me stuck.

My Wish for You

Affirm boldly in 2022
Declare your affirmations throughout 2022

I started this blog last year with the thought that if I could reach just one person, my time would have been well spent. I hope that I have made a difference in your life.

Once again, I encourage you to continue to find joy amid the darkness. Each of us holds a divine light inside. Allow that light to comfort you, to heal you, to shine through so that others can see. If you know of someone who could use some light, send it their way!

Declare your affirmations throughout 2022. What will you leave behind in 2021, and what will you take forward into 2022?

What’s in Store for You in 2022

My question to you: If you have to choose one word to guide you through 2022, what word will you choose? My word of choice is “persistence!”

What word will carry you through 2022?
